The history of the Pro V1 started back in the fall of 2000, when Titleist development upped its game. During those days the USGA approved list only came out every six months. Titleist named the new ball Pro V1 with plans to rename the ball later. At the Invernes Classic, 47 players switched to the Pro V1. The popularity of this new golf ball was instantaneous, and Titleist never had to rename the model. The Pro stands for professional, the V is for veneer (the Urethane layer) and 1 because it was the first. Sunshine Golf Balls offers a full line of Titleist Pro V1 models at a great low price!
